Romantic Haze

24 January - 23 February 2025

Play Art House, Bangkok, Thailand

“Fog or smog?” This question arises as we gaze upon a landscape veiled in a soft white hue. The beauty and obscurity of the scene before us evoke a sense of ambiguity—a moment of wonder, yet uncertainty.

If the haze blanketing the view were a gentle winter mist, it would be nothing short of enchanting. But the reality, however, is far from idyllic.

Even as the discomfort of what we are facing gradually becomes apparent, we continue to perceive a hidden beauty within the haze. This beauty reflects the fragility of nature and its relentless transformation. In every blurred image, there is a glimpse of nature’s love for us—a love that remains unwavering, despite being harmed or neglected, patiently waiting for us to recognize and respond.

This series of works delves into the emotional interplay of familiarity, discomfort, and hidden affection present in every situation. Created through the layering of white paint over vibrant backgrounds that symbolize life and vitality, these pieces draw inspiration from environmental conditions. They invite viewers to discover love and hope, even in seemingly bleak moments.
